Crispin Porter already pushing up Colorado’s creative cachet

“Steve from Colorado” picked up gypsy fares in NYC to show off the urban street smarts of the new Volkswagen Rabbit according to a new case study on the Apple website. It was all captured on video for a reality-based website designed to reintroduce a VW model that was replaced with the Golf a generation ago.

Steve’s Colorado-ness surely has something to do with VW’s agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, recently opening an office in Boulder.

The guts behind the project’s video production are detailed in a geargasm of a case study for Apple.

As CP+B settles into Colorado, more and more stuff like the Apple case study will happen. And its value? Meaningful P.R. for Colorado.

I'm not one to make predictions. But I'll bet that five years from now we'll see Richard Florida’s theories on the Creative Class come alive – bringing with them more hypertalent like Steve. It's likely that Colorado will join the ranks of Minneapolis and Portland as small towns with world-class ad agencies. And most of the credit will go to CP+B.
