The Denver 50: Anticipation for tomorrow's show

When the New Denver Ad Club launched last year, I was skeptical. Another club, another awards show. Wouldn't the other local orgs fill the gap left when the old Ad Club died?
But on the eve of its first show, The Denver 50, I'm optimistic that the relatively novel approach to local awards will meet one of its main objectives: to give some national cred to the work that Colorado agencies are good at producing.
Unlike most shows, which dole out mostly worthless awards in dozens of categories, there are just 50 awards per year. The 50 best ideas win, regardless of print, broadcast, online or whatever medium.
Multiple national ad blogs already have covered the event's promo film, which makes me think that some of the 50 winning ideas may get even more attention within creative spheres.
Our hometown rockstars at Factory, Sukle, TDA, Moxie Sozo, Cultivator, Karsh and Art & Anthropology are likely to make appearances. It'll also be cool to see who else is doing interesting work.
- Tickets: Denver 50 2007 Awards Show, 1399 35th St, 12/6, 6:30-10:30 pm
