McClain looses Qwest
Last week Qwest dealt a blow to Denver's creative industry when it announced that its $95 million ad account will move to Chicago's Draftfcb. Since 2002 the account had been with McClain Finlon putting the telecom among the largest clients serviced by a Denver-based agency.
McClain reported $234,353,851 in 2006 billings and 200 employees in the Denver Business Journal's 2007 rank of Denver ad agencies (June 29 - July 5 2007).
Deducing that nearly half of McClain's billings came from Qwest, a number locals are likely to lose their jobs (half would be about 100). If you're one of them, check the job resources in the right column of this blog. And best of luck.

Qwest must be more than 50%, so figure 65 -70%, the loses will be significant.
The results are in. Approximately 120 of 170 employees have be given notice that their jobs are being eliminated. This news came a just a couple of days before Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
